Part 1

University Introduction

Located in Lin’an District, at the western end of West Hangzhou Sci-tech Innovation Corridor, Zhejiang A&F University (ZAFU) is a provincial-level key university jointly sponsored by Zhejiang Provincial Government and the National Forestry and Grassland Administration. The university was founded in 1958 and renamed as Zhejiang Agricultural and Forestry University in 2010. It is a multidisciplinary university featuring agriculture, forestry, biology, environment, amongst eight major disciplines, and has established a complete education circle and degree programs for bachelors, masters and doctorates.The university is home to three campuses, namely Donghu, Yijin and Zhuji, covering a total area of 213 hectares. There are over 2100 faculty members, including more than 1460 full-time teachers. It has 5 national platforms such as State key Laboratory, National Engineering and Technology Research Center and 43 provincial and ministerial innovation platforms.Composed of 20 colleges (departments), the university offers 67 undergraduate programs, including 11 national first-class programs in fostering and 4 characteristic programs at national level. There are 13 first-class disciplines in Zhejiang Province and 5 key disciplines (nurturing disciplines included) funded by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration. It also has a postdoctoral research center in forestry first-tier discipline, 6 first-tier discipline doctoral degree programs and 19 first-tier discipline master programs and 16 professional master degree programs.

Zhejiang A&F University has long attached importance to the construction of ecological culture and has built itself into a modern ecological campus which is literally a botanical garden. Appraised as an ideal place to learn and research at and a standard business card for the campus construction of colleges and universities in Zhejiang Province, the university has been awarded the “National Ecological Civilization Education Base” by the Ministry of Education and the National Forestry and Grassland Administration.

Part 2

Application Requirements

1. Abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, have good scientific ethics, and consciously practice the spirit of scientists in the new era;2. Born after January 1, 1982 (inclusive);3. Have a doctorate degree;4. The research direction is mainly in natural science, engineering technology, etc.5. Before April 30, 2021, the applicant should have obtained a formal teaching or research position in an overseas university, scientific research institution, or corporate research and other institution, and have more than 36 months of continuous work experience; for those who have obtained a doctorate degree overseas and have particularly outstanding performance, the limitation of work experience may be appropriately relaxed;6. The applicant shall have obtained the achievement of scientific research or technology and other achievements recognized by peer experts, and have the development potential of becoming an academic leader or outstanding talent in related field;

7. The applicant has not yet returned to work in China (to China) on a full-time basis, or returned (came) to work in China after January 1, 2021. After being notified of the grant of funding, the applicant must resign from the overseas work or have no work overseas and return (come) to work in China full-time for at least 3 years.

Part 3

Limitation Requirements

According to relevant requirements of the central government on the overall planning and convergence of the national scientific and technological personnel plan, only one such program at the same level can be undertaken during the support period of the national scientific and technological talents plan, and reversed application is not allowed.

Part 4

Supporting Policies

1. Annual salary: RMB 600,000 yuan (before tax, excluding social insurance and housing provident fund). Extra contribution in the initial employment period can enjoy extra merit incentive policy.2. Initial funds for scientific research: RMB 2.5 to 5 million yuan (including the portion funded by the state).3. Housing allowance: RMB 2 million yuan, providing on-campus transitional housing (2 years) or a rental allowance of 1,000 yuan per month (3 years).4. If the candidate meets the talent policy from the nation or Zhejiang province, he/she can enjoy up to RMB 1.5 million government sponsorship.5. Working conditions: an office and laboratory of an area of 100-200 square meters is provided.6. Personal development and team building: directly access to academic title assessment for professorship, team members (doctor students, postdoctoral workers) will be assigned and included in the annual full-time teacher recruitment plan.7. Assist in solving the issues of spouse’s work and children’s enrollment for school.

8. Special note: Those who enter the final evaluation session but are not selected can enjoy the annual salary of purported talent level of the application during the first employment period, and other benefits will be honored according to the incumbent talent benefit policy. Those who enter the final evaluation session with outstanding achievement, but are not selected, can be hired as special-term professor or associate professor if he /she passes the review of professorship.
